Seal Coating is a layer made from coal, tar or asphalt that protects the pavement from the sun, chemicals, oil spills, or water penetration. The benefits of sealing are obvious and apparent right from the beginning. It gives the pavement that nice glossy look that homeowners are attracted to. What’s more, if fills in the cracks that accumulate over time and makes the driveway look glossy. For those interested in the process, it is relatively straight forward. Equipment is used to remove debris from the driveway, then a layer or two of sealer is sprayed over the asphalt to give off the dark, rich black color.
